Social Programme

An attractive social programme will be available, as the venue is located in the city center. One may enjoy winter(sports) in the Austrian Alps, explore the Swarowski Crystal World in the nearby city of Wattens or take an exciting ride in an olympic bobsleigh!

Alpine Skiing:

A shuttlebus service will be available in the afternoons to transfer interested participants to the "Patscherkofel". Please indicate in the travel form if you would like to rent skiing gear. Further, electronic half-day ski tickets valid from 1-4 pm at the Patscherkofel can be purchased in cash (Euros) on a daily basis in the ABC2010 meeting office at the hotel. The discounted rate for ABC2010 participants is EURO 16 plus EURO 2 refundable deposit per half-day (regular price € 21). Ski Rental

The ski rental "Die Börse" located in Innsbruck offers a 10% discount for ABC2010 participants. A shuttle from and to the Hotel Grauer Bär will be available on Saturday, February 27 and on Sunday, February 28. The equipment can be stored in the hotel (special room) during the whole meeting. As a special service, the equipment will be picked up by the ski rental store after the meeting.

Guest Bobsleigh at the Olympic Bobsleigh Track Igls

On Tuesday, March 2, we plan an excursion to the Olympic bobsleigh track in Innsbruck Igls.

A professional pilot will take up to 5 people in the competition bobsleigh from the ladies start down, reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h. Be thrilled by the speed and enjoy a fast ride covering an 800 m (2400 feet) altitude change.
Note that you do not need special shoes but are requested to bring gloves. Helmets will be provided.

IMPORTANT, the ride is not recommended for people having problems with their back and neck; pregnant women cannot participate.

The cost of this excursion is EURO 35 (incl. shuttle to the track). Departure from the hotel at 1:30 pm, return approximately 4 pm.

Maximum attendance: 100 people (first come first serve!)!

Swarovski Crystal World:

A daily bus leaves from Innsbruck to the Swarowski Crystal World in Wattens at 1 pm and 3 pm (30 min. ride). The “Swarovski Crystal World” - package at the rate of EURO 18 includes the bus ride and the entrance fee. Tickets can be purchased at the front desk in the Hotel Grauer Bär.
